Indoorswomen - Episode 57 - OTP FTW

OTP = One True Pairing

Our shipper hearts have a lot of feels about fandom OTPs! Join us as we talk about some of our favorite fictional pairs: what sends us in search of fanfic, why we love two (or more) characters together, and who we'd start a ship war over.

We also play a game of "Gender Swap" as we recast Star Wars and James Bond.

Stay tuned to the end for our random recommendations: The Invitation and Switched at Birth.

Special shout-outs: So I Married a Movie Geek (@MovieGeekCast), Cutaways Podcast (@CutawaysPodcast), Bad Feminist Film Club (@BadFemFilmClub)

Our intro/outro music is "We Are Highscore" by Krackatoa.

Give us a listen!

Indoorswomen - Episode 53 - Wakanda Forever!

Of course we had to have a Black Panther episode! We explore the characters, the costumes, the music, and all the things we loved about this near purrfect superhero movie. There will be SPOILERS.

Also, we talk about some of our favorite ships from the shows Bones and Halt and Catch Fire.

Stay tuned to the end for our random recommendations, Rabbit Cake and Annihilation.

Our intro/outro music is "We Are Highscore" by Krackatoa.

It’s the long-awaited sequel to our last podcast on Sherlock! We address comparisons between Sherlock and Doctor Who, favorite episodes, and we tackle the age-old question of “Benedict Cumberbatch: handsome or lizardy?”

As always, our amazing intro/outro music is “We are Highscore” by Krackatoa.

It’s no question that the Indoorswomen are big Sherlock Holmes fans and we are particularly fond of the modern-day adaptation “Sherlock” (BBC/PBS). We are, in fact, such big fans, that we had to split this episode into two parts due to excessive yammering. See you in two weeks for the (not so) stunning conclusion.

Today we are discussing “Elementary, My dear Watson”, and other things Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes never said. We are talking modern Sherlock adaptations, primarily the BBC show, the fourth series of which premiered this week. What do we like and dislike about these modern imaginings? What are our theories? What are our favorite episodes? And, the most important question of them all: is Benedict Cumberbatch handsome?

P.S. CPR was invented in 1956 and became a prominent life saving device in the early 1960s

Note: if you haven’t seen the BBC/PBS Sherlock adaptation, this episode contains some spoilers. Also, GO WATCH IT!

As always, our awesome intro/outro music is “We are Highscore” by Krackatoa!

Completely unintentionally, we ended up putting together a podcast almost entirely about adult topics. After a rousing game of Marry/Sex/Kill wherein we challenged one another to marry, have sex with, or kill famous and/or fictional men, we move on to our “graphic novels: definitely not just for kids!” section.

Topics include:
Which Star Trek captain would you kill? Marry? Have sex with?
Which failed superhero would you choose?
Bonus: we revisit Meg’s crushes through the ages! (It’s totally embarrassing!)

Also, we talk about some of our favorite graphic novels: Saga and Sex Criminals! These aren’t your kids’ comics, my friend!

As usual, our intro/outro music is “We Are Highscore” by Krackatoa.
